LASERS WE USE: The lasers we use have been evaluated as the most effective. The laser targets the root of the hair and is great with very dark and coarse hair, as well as fine hair. We use lasers with the maximum amount of power to the root of the hair without damaging surrounding tissue. We also use large spot sizes, that is most effective for hair removal.
COMFORT & SAFETY: We use a cooling device which blows out chilled air, for a more comfortable treatment. This eliminates any topical anesthetics.
TWO SEPARATE LASERS IN ONE BODY: We have 2 different lasers for hair removal. The 755-nm Alexandrite laser and the 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser. Since we can switch between wavelengths during a single procedure, we can select the most appropriate laser for any given hair or skin type. We can also perform multiple procedures on the same client during the same visit. We can go from very fair-light skin tones to the very dark skin tones with effective removal of hair.
The way the lasers work: The laser targets the darkness of the melanin pigment in the hair follicle. At a session only up to 30% of the hair in an area may be in a growth phase, and therefore be destroyed. More than one treatment is needed for the laser to be effective. If on face area, approximately sessions that are 4weeks apart is recommended. For body areas, once every 6-8 weeks is recommended.
The skin colours the lasers work on: We can treat all skin colours. If your hair is blond, red, or gray you may not be a great candidate for this procedure.
Consultations: The consultation is a must, and is always complementary. We can also perform the treatment on the same day.
Pre-procedure: We do recommend that you shave the area to be treated the day before treatment. You must stop any other form of hair removal such as waxing, tweezing, or threading a good two weeks before the procedure. Any one treatable areas? We can treat almost any area of the body.
Discomfort: Discomfort is very minimal compared to most other lasers with the chilled forced air. While everyone's pain tolerance is different, the majority of clients do not think it is painful. Our lasers are much more comfortable than others. With the cooling system we use, it makes the treatment both comfortable and safer to the skin. No topical numbing creams are required.
